Jillian Lepera (she/her/hers), LMHC, C-DBT, QS

Meet Jillian

Jillian is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She is a Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida for Mental Health Counseling Registered Interns and is also an Adjunct Professor at Palm Beach State University. Jillian has been a therapist with Rising Lotus since 2020.

Passion

My passion is working with teens and young adults with at risk and/or self-injurious behavior, and working with this group means working with the entire family unit to improve family dynamics and relationships and process unresolved trauma. I excel in helping families in this area and through life transitions, particularly the high school to college transition, which can be difficult for the student and their family.

I am excited to be training to add a nutritional component to my services to help clients develop the skills needed to understand the effect their dietary intake may have on their mood, behavior and mental health.

Expertise

I have worked successfully with children, teens and families who have experienced anxiety, attachment disruptions, depression, difficult life transitions, divorce, grief and loss, and trauma. Before entering private practice, I provided services in many arenas including community mental health, inpatient residential, outpatient therapy, group therapy settings and pediatric primary care.

Approaches

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
